Afghan Hounds are tall and thin with long, narrow head and powerful jaws. It has dark eyes with almond shape. Its ears lie flat to the head. Neck is long and strong. It has long and rich coat. Its height is generally between 27 to 29 inches and weight between 26 to 34 kg. Generally Afghan hounds can not tolerate pain so they will be suffering from the minor injuries also.

Afghan Hounds are sweet, loyal, affectionate, sensitive, noble, courageous and suspicious. Afghan hound love to run freely in open area and a long walk daily. So they are not recommended to keep them in apartment or for apartment life. Its thick, long hair needs great deal of attention.
