Crate traininng

A crate can serve three purposes. First at the time when you can’t watch your dog, you can keep him in his crate so that he will not do any descriptive thing at home. Second thing you can teach your dog, where he have to go to relieve himself. Third the dog will not chew on every thing. You should use crate wisely or carefully. It is important that don’t use the crate only when you are not at home but use it as well when you are at home. For crate training you should follow the given steps:

  1. Your puppy’s schedule should be fix for feeding and water etc. In the morning, when you wake up first take your dog or puppy outside before doing anything. Then feed your dog and put the pup in the crate. Before going to office take your dog or puppy outside once more.
  2. A dog urinate frequently and many times per day. So when you take him outside, but he involved in playing, don’t get back him to home. Keep it in the crate for 15 to 20 minutes and then bring him back to home.
  3. When you could not watch him, keep him in the crate.
  4. You should not use the crate for punishment, because the dog live there and it is a dog’s home so there should not be any negative effect.

Sometimes when you take your dog outside the home and he will become destructive or out of control, in that condition keep your dog in crate for around 20 minutes and then get him back to home.

Crate training should be interesting for a puppy or dog. For this treat should be given to him only when he is in the crate. It is also important that a dog should feel comfortable in the crate. The crate should have enough space for the puppy to stand up, to move around.

The best time to purchase a crate is when you purchase the puppy. If you purchase a dog from breeder then it is good because the dog is already habitual of crate and you don’t have any need to train him for crate.

A crate should be placed in the corner of the dinning room, kitchen or in playroom or some similar place which is far from heat. Inside the crate you should use a blanket or towel that can be washed easily.

Thus a crate helps the owner very much & give a peace to the owner’s mind, when the owner is not at home.
