A friend of ours came home around midnight one night to find this dog sitting on his front porch. He located the owner and tried to return him only to find that the owner let him loose because he did not want him anymore. He was planning on having him put down in the near future. Unable to keep the dog at his house, our friend called us because he knew we were looking for a dog. As soon as we saw him, we fell in love. That was in Nov 2005, and we've had him ever since! We think he loves us so much because he knows we took him in when nobody else wanted him and gave him a great home. he has a huge house to roam around in and a very large yard to run and play. Lager loves everyone! (Except my boyfriends brother) he loves to run, play and be the center of attention. He is about 80 lbs., but that won't stop him from sitting on you like you're a piece of furniture! he chews anything he can get his paws on; bottle caps, hairbrushes, socks, towels, etc. He once ate an entire pair of eyeglasses that I had just replaced because he chewed on the first pair! He needs to know where you are at all times, so he will follow you around the house at your heels to keep you in sight. He would make a horrible watchdog because instead of chasing bad guys away, he would just jump up and lick their faces! He has a habit of stealing household items in front of you so that you'll chase him and try to get them back. It's a fun game for him, but not so fun when you're running late for work. He is the sweetest dog in the world and as soon as people meet him they instantly fall in love! We are so glad that we found Lager because he brings so much fun and happiness into our lives. He will always be a part of our little family! |
