A German Shepherd dog looks like a strong, well muscled animal and fearless. It is always alert and full of life. The dogs of this breed are longer than being tall. The normal height of this breed’s male dogs is 24 to 26 inches and the bitch’s normal height is 22 to 24 inches. The sex characteristics are strongly marked. You can easily identify the gender of the dog in this breed. The ideal dog of this breed is having a look of quality and nobility. The fur is a double coat and can be either short or long. It is available in various colors and shades, generally cream and brown and also in black and white.

The German shepherd dogs must be approachable, self confident, willing full and quietly standing its ground. Generally these dogs are used as working dogs and they work as search and rescue (SAR), military, police or guard dogs.
