There are two types of Labradors: first is English Labrador and second one is American Labrador. They are muscular dogs, longer than tall having short, water-resistance double coat. They are available in solid black, yellow, chocolate, silver and gray colors. Its height is between 21 to 24 inches and weight is between 55 to 70 pounds.

They are lovable, affectionate and a dog with patience, highly intelligent and loyal. They love to play in water and love to swim. Labs are easily trained and live as a part of the family. They live reserved with the strangers. These are watch dogs not a guard dog but some dogs work as a guard dog also. They have many talents like hunting, tracking, police work, narcotics detection etc. They are active dogs and need excessive exercise. They will do okay in apartments if sufficient exercise is given to them.
